Educating our children starts at home. I am passionate about being able to educate our children on our own family values (kind, caring, confident, compassionate, polite, respectful, responsible, grateful and love themselves and others), morals as well as educate our kids on our family expectations (house rules) when it comes to managing the home and preparing them to have a positive impact on our world.
Children will turn into adults and need to be able to take care of themselves and others when they get out on their own. Often parents take the brunt, or all of the work at home because we can do it better, faster or we just don’t want to add any pressure on our kids, or get any gruff from them. If we do this we are missing the opportunity to educate our kids on household responsibilities, money management and life skills for a successful future.
Mentorship start at home and as parents we work to inspire and motivate our children to try new things and do their best. When kids are given the chance to contribute to the home via chores and managing their own behavior when it comes to family values and expectations, they learn about initiative, motivation, discipline, independence, responsibility, following instructions, meeting timelines and more. When also given parental recognition for their efforts, a sense of pride and accomplishment ensue and they feel empowered to get creative, stay curious and do more!
Successful habits and relationships are learned starting in the home. Children get educated from their parents and siblings and have the confidence to bring these learned skills from a home environment into a school environment, and eventually a work environment, helping prepare them to be successful employees, and most important good social citizen in the ‘real world.
Why I’m passionate about childhood education?
